Does anyone know the answer ? ....What is the criteria for finding the perfect spot to poop?
Velvet will spend forever circling around, then moving a little further away, then, wait no, maybe over here,... Not to be tooooo graphic, but sometimes she's pooping before she settles on a spot to squat! Its hysterical to watch, and I thought maybe someone might have some insight on the doggie mind :)

Sasha, the wiener dog, here. Pooping for some dogs is art. Some dogs just don't care like my big brother. He just goes and poos where ever when he has, too. But a true poo artist like Velvet and myself has to find a spot that smells just right, not to wet, and moving while pooing creates cool pictures in poo. Some dogs even turn around afterwards to admire their work. They even might kick up some dirt to put a special signature on it. But, this is a doggy secret just between us.
Gianna likes to be very still while pooping, as if it takes all her concentration, although she is very selective before she takes her stance.
Giupetto seems to wait for the last minute with both pee and poo, like a little kid. He does his business in a litter box, but when he sees (or smells) Gianna going, then he has to go, run, hurry, get out of my way. So there is only very little time for a quick circle in the litter box.
